Why did we put a church roof from 1863 onto our gourmet restaurant? Why did we mount a piece of the Viennese St. Stephens’s Cathedral in our wellness area? Why are there a wine press and wooden doors dating back to 1829 from a monastery in our hotel?

Firstly, because hotelier Thomas Wolf is a passionate collector who never lets a good find pass him by, and

secondly because we love anything that is “more than meets the eye”. We don’t go in for artistically recreated charm.
We, Thomas Wolf and son Heribert, believe in the beauty, power and fascination of real artefacts from the Alpine republic. The Hotel Dorfschmiede is not a museum, just a home for real treasures that give our hotel an incomparable Alpine charm.
