Mountain Railways

Discover the mountain landscape of the Glemmtal Valley.
Take the mountain railway to reach the best views

The Saalbach Hinterglemm mountain railways are open the whole year round to bring you quickly and comfortably to the starting point for your mountain adventure. In summer, 4 cableways will take you to the Kohlmais, Reiterkogel, Schattberg and Zwölferkogel mountains. Once at the top, you can simply choose a direction to enjoy hiking, walking or mountain biking.

The Reiterkogel is especially close to the Dorfschmiede, at just 2 minutes’ walk away. And with your Joker Card, which you’ll receive free of charge from us, you can use all mountain railways for free all summer!

Mountain bikers can look forward to 400 km of signposted cycling and biking routes, while hikers can discover the mountain landscape on 400 km of hiking trails. Countless Alpine meadows and lodges make sure your active journey of discovery through this mountain landscape is also a culinary experience never to be forgotten.

Lifts in winter
Since winter 2015/2016, the new connection with the Fieberbrunn mountain railway means that the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circus is not only Austria’s largest skiing area, but also its most diverse. Both sides now combine their individual strengths to create one unbeatable offer, boasting 270 km of descents and 70 cableways and lifts.
